Competitor Information
If you fly a powered parachute and enjoy a good competition, we want to see you this summer! The World Powered Parachute Championship is where you can find out exactly where you rank compared to others in our sport.
This event is not just your normal fly-in! This competition attracts the biggest names in powered parachuting. Test your skills against past Champions like Clyde Poser, John Wilson, Eddie Johnson, Tim LeBlanc, and Rock'n John Carr. All have competed here in years past.
On Thursday we will start with up to 100 pilots that will compete in the pre-qualification rounds. There will be 3 tasks that will narrow down the field to a total of only 25 finalists. Saturday morning will see those 25 competing head to head in even more complicated tasks to see who is the top gun.
There are three tasks for the prequalification rounds. There is a bomb drop, an accuracy landing, and a task called the multiple carrier landing, which is three tightly spaced accuracy landings.
The 25 pilots that make it through the prequalification rounds then come up against the Championship Tasks. Those include the Power Off Landing, the Multiple Carrier Hop, the Precision Taxi, Obstacle Landing, and Pylon run.
